La pellicola narra la magica avventura di Pi Patel, figlio del guardiano dello zoo di Pondicherry, in India, che insieme alla famiglia si sta trasferendo in Canada, a bordo di una grande nave da carico. Superstite di un tragico naufragio, Pi si ritrova alla deriva nell’Oceano Pacifico, su una scialuppa di salvataggio, in compagnia di una enorme tigre del Bengala di nome Richard Parker. Insieme affronteranno una dura lotta per la sopravvivenza. Tratto dall’omonimo romanzo di Yann Martel. Il film ha ottenuto 7 candidature e vinto 4 Premi Oscar, 1 candidatura a David di Donatello, 2 candidature e vinto un Golden Globes, 8 candidature e vinto 2 premi BAFTA.
